Re: Creative Inspire 5200 speakers connecting to DVD...
These are computer speakers, they will not work for a dvd player... Your dvd player has an rca/collex (SP) cable while your speakers have a 2.5 headphone style jack

Hi. Check your speaker system with a different audio device like iPod or any MP3 Player using the same jacks. If the speaker system gives out sounds then nothing is wrong with it... if no sounds come out, then you know what I mean...
Try to replace the speaker of your sub-woofer... maybe that can fix it!
Just buy two connectors(shown above). Its having two holes upside. 1. Connect the connector to one hole of the other. 2. Connect the audio cable to the dvd. 3. Then connect the connectors to the other side of the audio cable. 4. Lastly, connect the three stereo output cables of the Creative speakers to the three holes of the connector simultaneously. I have tried this at home with my Creative Inspire M5300 speakers and philips dvd. All the five speakers are working. -------------------------------- Rovan C
Without knowing the DVD player I can't advise you. Because I don't know what the "port" is on the DVD.
The creative uses colour coded cables for the channels. What you will need is an adaptor cable, if the DVD player does not have individual sockets, like a computer has.
5.1 inspire sobwoofer are not compatible with dvd players so you have to buy a sobwoofer for your player. sobwoofer have 3 In puts so player has two out puts so you have to buy microlab 5.1 sub for use both equipment Anuruddha
You could test the speakers on another computer or another type of player. As for testing the speaker itself you might want to open them up and look for rust.. Moisture could have gotten inside and ruined them. That is the best that I can do.
