If you are trying to connect a ribbon cable tuner to a conventional RCA input terminal amplifier, it won't work because the ribbon cable carries the signal output as well as the data for frequency synthesis which is determined by the processor located in the amplifier ( that is supposed to work with that type of tuner), and the data buss for the buttons on the front of the tuner.

For the time and effort to put into a workaround, it is cheaper by far to get a tuner that will work with your amp. If cosmetics are not an issue, brand of tuner will not matter as their outputs are "Line Level" or nominally 1 volt peak to peak..

SOURCE: HOW TO WIRE AN EQUALIZER TO A SONY TA-FE370 AMP

You can't wire an equalizer to this amp unless you only want to equalize one source, because it doesn't have a tape monitor function.

I need to know how to hook up Sony amplifier ta-ax 295,Sony tuner st-jx 295, sony cassette tc-w295 with a RCA 5 disc CD player and a Samsung DVD/ video CD/CD player in stereo. It always worked when my...

There are a number of amplifiers in the TA series, but the connections are basically the same.
In your system, the amplifier serves as master control. How do you know? Look for the component that offers input selection -tuner, cassette, CD, video, phono and probably auxiliary. Every other component plugs into and is controlled by the integrated amplifier. For example, plug the tuner wires from the tuner output to the amplifier input marked "Tuner." To use the tuner, just select that input from the front panel. Same with all the other components.

On the back of that unit will a bunch of RCA jacks for left and right channels. Take the hook-up wires, usually RCA cables with colored plugs on each end, and connect the OUTPUT jacks on each separate component to the INPUT jacks on the amp. Power may also be controlled from the amp. On audio plugs, red is right and white is left. Keep the polarity constant as you connect each component. Connect the speaker wires to the speaker outputs, usually spring clips or screw terminals on the amplifier end and the same on each speaker. The DVD video cable will have three wires: Yellow, red and white. Yellow is always video. It may also have a little round video connector for S-VHS which provides a much better picture when using DVD.
Select your desired input and enjoy the show. Service Manual free download schematics datasheets eeprom bins pcb...

Wires connect stereo

Assuming that your TV has a headphone socket, the easiest way is to connect a lead from the headphone socket on your TV to a spare line (or auxiliary) input on the Sony amp. You will need a 3.5mm stereo plug to twin RCA plug cable, long enough to reach both pieces of equipment. Most electrical stores should have a suitable cable available at modest cost :o)

Amplifier - TA-AX380; CD Player - CDP-C40; AM/FM Tuner - ST-JX380; FM Stereo/FM-AM Receiver - STR-AV570X, and Stereo Cassette Deck - TC-W380.....all Sony. Very old system, do not have the manuals, they...

Since you have 2 receivers, you can either use the Sony STR-AV570X or the TA-AX380. You will need 3 Stereo RCA Cables to connect your CD Player, Tuner, and Tape Player. The speakers connect to the receiver you choose using the speaker input terminals.

Hi above are links for manuals, these may help..
When one wires up anything it is all usually color to color output to input... usually RED & WHITE stereo audio.
Now we would start with our Tuner this the CD player, & Cassette deck, will wire into the Amp's INPUTs , red - red & white - white, these go into the Stereo INPUTs on the AMP... 1, 2 & 3 and be selected via the input selector on the AMP.
Now after all these in's and out's are wired we need to wire our speakers, this too is simple, locate the outputs on the Amp, and wire accordingly, Plus to Plus and Negative to Negative... each speaker has two wires a Plus, + & a Negative -
All will/should be clearly marked and it will be easy to do. You will need patch leads, one set each for each unit, these will be a pair of cables, usually Red & White with RCA jacks on each end, as related these go color to color from the RCA OUTPUTs Sockets, of the signal suppliers, ie: Tuner, FM stereo & Cassette deck... these ALL will wire into the Main Amplifiers INPUTS, usually at rear of unit, and clearly marked, after this is all done, then as related again now connect the Speakers, again the OUTPUT on the Amp will be clearly marked, as output and + & -, + & - (two sets), one for each channel.
Now each INPUT is selected ON the AMP, and it's output will then be directed to the speakers attached to the Amp..... Just wire and test one at a time, and i am sure you will prevail.
Hope this helps.
