Dwl-g650 wirless card

I've had a dwl-g650 wireless in my compaq notebook for the last couple of years, Worked great. I just put xp pro on my notebook and had to download the driver for it. I installed the driver and my computer won't recognize the card. I noticed that just the link led blinks on the card. I must be missing a driver somewhere. Any help on this would be great Thanx

You have the driver instaled for the card, but is the cardbus controller installed, go to device manager and look at pcmcia line and see if controller is there, or whether there is an exclamation mark on other unknown devices. You will need to go to the compaq site and identify the driver for the pcmcia controller

It doesnt work?

Check the device manager when the card is inserted to see if it is listed as an unknown device.
Use the driver CD for the device to identify it to Windows.

Problems with d-link DWL-G650 wireless cardbus adapter pcmcia

You can try downloading the latest driver for this card from Dlink web site and then remove the previously installed software and install the one that you have downloaded and then check if everything is working....

Wi-fi card on Win98SE laptop not allowing internet to connect.

I really believe this is some kind of driver error. You must first remove the existing driver and then install the following driver.
http://download.cnet.com/D-Link-AirPlus-Xtreme-G-DWL-G650-Adapter/3000-2112_4-67890.html
If that doesn't work we're gonna have to try messing with the wireless router settings.

Wireless cardbus adapter

Hi,

To be able to download the appropriate driver, you need to specify the revision of the DWL-G650 (Rev A, Rev B or Rev C. Rev B has 5 sub revisions while C has two).

Pls go here and enter "DWL" thereafter "G650" and then click on the revision number of your unit.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My wireless card wont work

Sounds like the bus port drivers. Check the device manager for any drivers that are missing. It could also be that you don't have the correct driver for the card. You won't find the drivers for this card at Dell's site. Try the link bellow for the d-link driver. You will need to choose which g650 you have there is 4 different models. If this doesn't get it working, get back to me and I'll see what else I can find.

Insertion of dwl airplus g650 caused total freeze

Hi,

I wonder if you had your problems resolved? I have a similar situation with a Trendnet wireless PCI card, TEW-443PI. It was a brand new card I purchased on-line. The card had locked up my computer whenever it was inserted and when it was removed, my computer was back to working fine. If you had your issues resolved, please share it with me since I still have the same lock-up problem with the thing inserted into a PCI slot.

Thank you in advance,
