Theres nothing wrong with the remote nor the ilo TV. my remote got locked out too. i used an old technicians method...BACKTRACK think about what you where doing, up to when the problem occured. for me, i was recording a tv show onto a dvd disk. so i put a disk in, and started recording. i called up a particular control window, which i remember was the last window open, when i stopped the recording. while in this control window, i pushed the video button on my ilo remote control, and to my surprise, the viewing mode window came up. i knew then i had solved my problem. now the remote control is fully recognized by the ilo tv, and i can now switch modes (analog, composite...etc.) before the remote control had been locked out, so i couldn't change viewing modes, or even adjust the volume. i realized that if you shut down recording, while certain control windows are open, it may cause your remote control to be locked out of the system. make sure all of your control windows have been closed, before you stop recording, on your vcr or dvd recorder, and make sure you remember what recording control and selection windows you are using, during recording.

I need to re tune my samsung tv but have no remote any ideas?

you can always use the button on your Tv itself.

ie menu = Menu
Channel up/down = take you up and down
volume = goes left and right.

follow these steps

Menu,
channel down button to CHANNEL
press the volume button along
channel down button to AUTO STORE
press the volume button to Start the scan.

right now you have your telly tuned in. What you could do it get an old sky remote off a friend/ neighbour. or buy from argos etc ( a lot cheaper then getting a replacement samsung one)

press the following buttons on the sky remote to program it to work with your samsung tv.

TV,
RED + SELECT
TV.
0060

try the volume if this works press SELECT to save this code if it doesnt press Tv then try the volume again. repeat this step until the volume works your telly. once it doest dont forget to press the SELECT button to save.

Now you will be able to change your volume use the number keys. if you also press the HELP button on the sky remote this will also change your AV / SOURCE I hope this post helps you out. When it does please leave a thumbs up for me Please

I signed on last night, asked a couple of questions, but the info sent to my e-mail didn't have anything to do with the questions I asked. Noticing in the forum, several people has the same problem:...

Hi CindyCee,

I have tried to post solutions, but they seem to be too long, so I will have to post more than once to get the info to you.

First part- the "Line-In" Video Source thing many people are having fun with. Try these options from the Samsung FAQs website.:

How Do You Switch Video Sources? spacer.gif Depending on the model TV you have, there are up to four ways to change the video source:
  • Through the on-screen menu controlled by your remote
  • Through the on-screen menu accessed through the Menu button on your TV's front panel

  6. Press the Exit button on your remote to exit.

  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. Press the Menu button on the front of your TV. The Main Menu appears.
  3. Use the Up or Down Ch button on the TV to select Input, and then press the - or + Vol button. The Input menu appears.

ILO'26HD got stuck, its freezed

Yes, Walmart sells ILO, I would not buy that brand. Anyway I am not familiar with the model of the tv, but it should have buttons on the front bottom or right side of the tv so you can change the source and change the volume. So my questions, does anything on the remote work? Do the buttons on the tv work? The DirectTV should not be interfering. It was working fine, correct?

Mintex 37 inch wide screen. remote is working however cannot change channel, input source or volum. only turns tv off. The buttone on tv doesnot work connot change input source or volume

Check if the remote is in TV position, that is, because most of the remote controllers have the feature that you can program them for use with another devices. Make shure that one button that says "TV" in pressed and released once before you try to change any function on the TV.

ILO LCD TV

It sounds like you have the problem many of us have faced and I am not aware of anyone actually getting one of these things fixed. suggest you P)USH real hard, ANY WAY YOU CAN for an exchange. there are two parts to the control circuits in these tvs [ilo] one part deals with the on/off and the other, much more complicated and I think not well engineered, deals with all other aspects of control- including vol, chan changing, SIGNAL SOURCE SELECTION, and on and on. If you can get it fixed- me-thinks it'll be a first. .....pull EVERY trick in the book to get an exchange.

Telvision Problem

Do the controls on the tv itself work or just the remote? If it's the remote mabey it's defective. I would look on the Ilo site and see if they recommend a universal remote for their models ( or just getting yours replaced ). If the problem is within the tv, I'd look into the warranty. Sorry if this wasn't any help.

Volume/ channel/ remote not working

I just used the following instructions from this site on my 'totally dead' Ilo remote and it worked like a charm! I did step 2 twice on each key and put the batteries back in and it worked great! Hope this helps you too. "Dead" Remotes Can Be Saved How to Re-Start Your "Dead" Remote Control This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls. Good Luck! Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4. Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once! Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2. (When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!) Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly. New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones. Step 5- Try the remote. If it works, Great! If not, it's time to call 1-800-Remotes or use this website to order a new remote.
