PIP on old panasonic tv only shows the channel you are watching

I bought an 32 inch older (1999 it says on the back of the tv) panasonic and it has a great picture but the PIP only shows the channel you are watching! I didn't receive the original remote control but the one that came with the tv has a pip button and controls its functions. I would like to use the pip function to watch two programs at the same time, can you help me?

Determine your exact model - there should be a sticker on the back.
Similar to: CT32HX40B, CT32HC43G, CT32S20U, etc, etc.

Go to below link and download the appropriate PDF for your model.
(Tip: Set page to " Show All Rows" for ease of use.
http://service.us.panasonic.com/operman/findmanual.aspx?cat=DTV

Depending on your source input (Cable, Antenna, both) - the PIP instructions will vary.

Note: The PIP is not all it is cracked up to be anyway, so you may be wasting your time, also if you get the PIP in a stuck mode... See the link to fix it: http://www.fixya.com/support/t664989-turn_off_panasonic_pip

Just bought a Condere 32" TV how do I set the channels?

The search query for this is

make model manual

size, in this case is irrelevant :>) Or of course you could read the manual that came with it.

https://www.google.com/search?q=condere+tv+manual

Channels are set by whatever the input is from, cable, satellite box, IP PVR, Over-Air decoder, etc. Your television just relays what it sees from the Input/Source HDMI cable

I am trying to get my pip to work to watch 2 games today. I went to pip set up it is on but i dont understand how to actually get the other channel to come up even pushing pip on remote doesnt do it.

Some TV can do PIP but it will require to have TWO tuners to watch two channels at once, most TV will have single tuner, but it will aloow you to do PIP, one showing what is on the tuner, another shows other video source, such as DVD.

Vizio remote

The remotes for the TV and Direct TV box are universal remotes that can operate very basic functions for whatever else they are programmed to control. If you can program the TVs remote to operate the Direct TV box it will basically only control power and channel. Maybe something else, but not much. The same goes for the Direct TV remote. It will control basic functions on the TV; power, channel & volume. Best bet would be to purchase a universal remote that can learn functions from the original or just keep both remotes available by the TV.

PIP (Picture In Picture) - Your television should have the capability because it has two built in tuners. It can show two channels at the same time or show one channel and one video source (whatever is connected to the audio/video inputs). However, because you are using DTV (Direct TV) you are very limited because you are not using the built in tuners on your television. You should be able to see one picture from the DTV channel and one from lets say your DVD player. If your DTV box has two tuners built in then you should have the PIP capabilities from your DTV and not your television. I'm guessing your DTV is a single tuner (one satellite cable to your box). If you want to watch two different channels you'll need to either upgrade your box or attach another box to your television.

Option: you could also connect an antenna to your television this way you can use the PIP function. Obviously you'll only be able to view whatever local stations you can get with the antenna. Depending on where you live you might or might not have a lot of channels to choose from.

Can't change our Panasonic TV channel to watch DVD input

Buy a 21 way scart. This will have an 'AV' enable connection built in. After fitting, turn on the TV, then turn on the DVD player. It will automatically enable the DVD through the scart socket.

Sharp television without remote

should be able to go through on the tv unit itself to auto search the channels, i've done in numerous times for friends in dorms who lose their remotes or don't know how to reprogram for the new cable channels. it should be on the tv by the channels and volume buttons.

Panasonic CT-36SL13 Can't select video inputs

On a Panasonic to do a factory reset while the set is on press in on the power and action buttons on the front of the TV at the same time. In a few seconds the screen shouls go blank and come up with a screen that says "CHK" in the upper left hand corner. Once it does that press the action button again to clear the screen. You have now reset the TV to factory settings and will have to re-program the channel memory once again. Hope that works...
