Question about Mitsubishi WS-65711 65" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mitsubishi WS-65711 Volume

TV turns on and volume goes as high as it can. Bring volume back down using buttons and it will come down, but as soon as you take your finger off the button it goes all the way back up. Will not accept signals from remote either. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your advice. Sound and remote came back after playing DVR'ed show. Could this be the DVR cable box as opposed to the TV? How can I tell? Thanks again

    Same problem as listed above

I'm having the exact same problem. I already sent the tv out for repair two years ago (for a different issue), and it cost me $600 and 5 weeks to repair.

I am not repairing this thing again. Time to get a new TV in my book.

The buttons on the front of the set fail, (like mine did) even if they never get used. Obviously the 'UP Volume' in your case is stuck closed. Try pecking on it first. My remote stopped working but so did the manual buttons too. While poking around on stuff I swished my finger across the buttons and it all started working again so I knew I was on to something. I never figured out which one was the culprit as it continued to cause problems and was replaced as a complete unit under warranty.

The other quick check/fix is to remove the trim plate around the button plate, then remove the button assembly (3 screws plus pop out stays like the speaker covers) then unplug the multi colored lead from the button circuit board. This puts the Remote back in control and it will work just fine like this, minus manual control of course.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi 65711 HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

I have a volume problem. When I adjust the volume at a listening level, a high pitch sound can be heard then the volume turns low and goes back to the set level. It happens in every channel (Direct TV)....

No ,replacing speakers will not fix the problem these sets are very well know for Poor Solder and connection ,resolder signal,Audio,& power supply boards this should correct the problem and alot of future ones too.

Mitsubishi ws65711-Volume bar always displays/remote not working

Just solved my problem. Found out that the down volume button must have been sticking. Tapped on it a number of times and finally the volume bar went off and then the up volume worked fine. Looks like the down volume button on front panel is intermittently getting stuck. This happened last year but went away before I could figure it out. Maybe going to try and blow some compressed air in button socket.
