Question about Sony SLV-R1000 S-VHS VCR

Vtr image I have an older Sony vcr model # slv-770HF and cannot seem to get the "vtr" image off so I can view my videos. How can I do this ?? Thankyou, Joy

    Not sure if the vtr image is the problem. It just will not record or play for me. I can hear the tape going but all I get is snow.

Thanks guys !! I have not had a chance to get a head cleaner yet but will do so sometime this week ! Will let you know how it works. Best, Twinny

Pravin is right,there has to be a certain signal level present before switching from vtr to picture.This could be caused by either the control head or the play heads being dirty.try a cleaning tape firstly.,

When I fast forward I can't view the video.
Some VCR's can't view tapes recorded on other machines. However you could try cleaning the video heads to see if that makes any differrance.

Why GE TV plays color DVD/VCR tapes in black and white
Some inputs on tvs won't process the color signal. Try one of the other inputs. Mine does the same. If u have already used the working ones on something else, U will need a switch to select one or the other available at Radio Shack if u can find one.

I need the video head for a sony slv 815
The parts you are looking won't be easy to find, go online to sony, contact customer support, and the technical department to see if they can help, if not! try and find a repairman that still repairs vcr's, because he would have access to part suppliers that may still carry what you need.

In vcr you mean? try unpluging the electric cord for 1 hour
then plug it back up. it just might eject it out. mine did.
