My Frigidaire washer (front loader) FTF2140ES1 stopped spinning during the rinse cycle. It has this humming sound, like it's trying to spin, but can't. I shake the door a little, because someone mentioned, the door latch, might be a be a problem. It spins a little super slow and then stops. Does that mean it's the door latch and if so how hard or easy is it to replace (I'm a woman), so not too terribly "handy", but can usually get by.

Your symptom sounds like a jammed drain pump. Was it spinning and then stopped before the spin cycle should have ended or did it not begin spinning when it should have?
Hello - Does the unit make a humming noise? If so, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned, or you have another issue with the door lock assembly or the timer and control board not communicating correctly. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.
If the unit will not spin at all and makes a humming noise, sounds like something has seized up in the back of the unit. This could be a belt broken, motor seized up, or the transmission, if your unit has one, is gone.
from your description, it sounds like your washer is already broken - to check, open the door and reach your hand into the tub at the front top. push up. if the tub moves more than a fraction of an inch, the bearing and/or spider are toast. last time i checked, the PARTS were in the neighborhood of $450 and it's a BIG job! [read that: big labor bill]. this is a common problem with these machines and it's probably time to get a new washer. sorry!
Some front loaders have a super high speed at the end of the spin. Front loaders don't like small loads, the laundry does not spread out evenly enough for a balanced spin.
When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it. Good luck!
When in doubt check the easiest thing to check. The pump can cause a number of errors to come up. Since the unit stopped in rinse I would start but checking to make sure there is nothing obstructing the pump before going to the expensive parts.
My Frigidaire front loader washer model LTF2140E doesnt want to drain the water when set to wash (heavy-normal-quick selectors). It washes put thats it. I have to switch the selector to drain/spin then rinse/spin cycle to finish the load. I checked the drain hose for any clogs....everything is clear. Any suggestions? Also,iIs their any reset buttons for this type of washer?
