MY FRIGIDARE MODEL FRS23ZTJ IS NOT WORKING RIGHT. THE REFRIGERATOR IS NOT COOLING. THE FREEZER SEEMS FINE. WHAT DO I DO NOW?

check the damper door located between the freezer and refrige compartments,it may be iced up in the closed position and can't let cold air in from the freezer,it may be covered behind a plastic cover or diverter, you may feel some cold air in this area moving if its open part way,if its iced up,use a hair dryer and defrost it then adjust the cold control in the refrige and see if the damper door opens and closes with adjustment of this control

My side by side Model GSH22KGRE BB freezer is

there is one of 2 possibilities, either the damper door between the refrige and freezer compartments is frozen shut due to ice build up and needs thaw out,the cold control that controls this door is bad or the mother board on the lower rear apron behind a cover panel is defective,if you have had light bulbs go out in the refrige compartment and now the refrige part does not cool and the temp light readout is dark this is a good indication its the motherboard, also if the lights are strobing and you can hear a relay clicking

Only the freezer side is working

I don't think the darkness is related to the fridge not being cool. The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp
OR
..
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

Freezer at 32 degrees, fan running ,fridge cool

The evaporator coils behind the rear cover inside the freezer are probably iced over because of defrost system failure. Defrost system consists of defrost heater, defrost thermostat and defrost timer(or motherboard in newer models.)

GC5SHEXNQ02 Whirlpool 2door ref - Panel gets hot

I am not going to say the problem is normal. Normal operation those strips are placed behind the metal and inside the walls around the door seals to prevent moisture or sweating around the doors. They are usually noticed to become hot when there is a change in the control boards operation. Some brands have the hot gas from the condenser circulating around the doors. If your model has an economy switch, switch it on. I would look for any abnormal operation of the refrigerator like compressor or condenser fan stopping or ice buildup or abnormal temperatures in the fresh food compartment. If this continues I would unplug the refrigerator and open the control panel inside the fresh food section and examine both sides of the control board for signs of heat or burn marks on both sides. May not be anything to be concerned about also because this may be the first time you noticed this. But it should not be too hot to touch. Sea Breeze

Lights come on, not cooling, temp indicator shows (-)

Because your digital controls appear to be confused I think the electronic module behind the temp control is defective. The part number for your control board is 12868513
You can enter the model number JFC2087HRP in model and parts search feature at the link below. You may want to unplug refrigerator and examine the part for burn marks or other signs of damage. Let me know what you find, Thanks Sea Breeze
