It's finished a cycle and has no water in it. But it won't open? Are there any tricks to open it? I've put it on spin & that finished & it still won't open. Turned it off & on... It says UE assuming that's an error message. Thanks would appreciate some help. Hoping it's something simple.

Hi, I don't know if this is much help to you now as it has been a while since you posted your problem. I had the exact same problem and after a lot of swearing and 2 days and no help what so ever from LG I took matters into my own hands.
I took the top off the the machine and removed the small steel plate, you will know what I am talking about after you have done the same.
I had my hubby hold the tub back as far as possible and used a screw driver to release the latch which is at the front of the machine about half way down. You will see a small silver steel knobby looking thing. After the machine was finally opened I unscrewed the screws on the inside of the door and used a flat screw driver to prise the housing apart. Be careful not to drop the glass window as when the housings start coming apart the window is no longer secure.
I found that a small piece of plastic on the handle had perished and broken not allowing the correct function. A phone call to Sunstate spare parts got the new handle to me within a few days at a cost of $20.95.
My only problem now is putting the bloody thing back together. I have been at it for 3 days with no sucess. If you manage to work out how to put yours together please let me know. I hope this has helped and hasnt come too late.
Cherie.

Sounds like you have a blocked pump.To empty the machine manually lower the drain hose into a bowl or bucket.Once emptied the door should open.On most modern machines there will be a filter behind the kick plate at bottom front of machine, Check this for any foreign objects then try a spin before putting on again. If problem persists come for further options.

I had the same problem. You most likely have a drain pump issue. For me, after getting to the drain pump, I found that the hoses leading into it were clogged with dirt. I cleaned all the hoses, and took off the drain pump itself. The impeller (the little plastic blades inside) had come off the pump shaft. I was able to clean out the impeller and pump housing and it went back on. You'll know it's all the way on because it will click into place and then it won't easilty (if at all) pull back off. After this cleaning, mine worked fine. Hope this helps.

Depending on how many clothes are in the washer you may a unbalance error
SOURCE: LG Washing Machine stops spinning in mid cycle
IE:
• Water supply is not adequate in
area.
• Water supply taps are not
completely open.
• Water inlet hose is bent.
• The filter of the inlet hose clogged.
Solution:
Check another tap in the house.
Fully open tap.
Straighten hose.
Check the filter of the inlet hose.
UE:
• Load is too small.
• Load is out of balance.
• The appliance has an imbalance
detection and correction system. If
individual heavy articles are loaded
(bath mat, bath robe, etc.) and the
imbalance is too great, after several
attempts to restart the spin cycle the
machine will stop and the error code
will be displayed.
Solution:
Add 1 or 2 similar items to help
balance the load.
Rearrange load to allow proper
spinning.
