How to Install the Kindle App for iPad/iPhone The Kindle app can be used on any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch with iOS 3.2 or greater installed. Installing the Kindle App Visit the App Store and download the Kindle app to start reading from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. To install the Kindle app: 1. Tap the App Store icon on the home screen of your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. You can also get the app through the iTunes Store. 2. Search for "Kindle" or find it in the alphabetical list of apps. 3. Follow the on-screen installation instructions. When installation is complete, tap the Kindle icon on your device to open the reading app. Registering the Kindle App To register your Kindle app, use your existing Amazon account e-mail address and password. for window phones 1. Press the "Home" key and press "Start." Use the directional pad to highlight "Settings," then press the center or "Enter" button. 2. Use the directional pad to select the System tab. Select "Screen," then press the center or "Enter" button. Select "Align Screen." 3. Using your smartphone's stylus, tap the crosshairs as they appear on your screen. Do this for as many as appear, until the calibration tool finishes. Your screen is now properly calibrated. for Android phone 4. Press the "Home" button or capacitive area, then press "Menu." Tap "Settings." 5. Tap "Language and keyboard." Tap "Keyboard settings." Tap "Tutorial" and go through the steps that appear on your screen. 6. Once this is finished, turn your phone off and on again. Your keyboard has been adjusted, which activates a re-calibration of the capacitive touchscreen. (Capacitive screens are technically far more accurate that resistive, and so a full calibration tool is not included with Android phones.)
Ref. HP ipaq hx4700: "Align screen" after hard reset or battery loss. I know others have had trouble getting past the "align screen" setup; I saw a suggestion somewhere that said the points were registered incorrectly (maybe in some, but not all of this model?); and they had to tap at locations other than the center of the cross symbol. I tried a variety of combinations, and found that if I tap ABOVE the center (but still on the vertical centerline) for the middle, top left and top right locations; and tap BELOW the center (but still on the vertical centerline) for the bottom left and bottom right...it worked. That brought me to the "Stylus" setup screen...which I also became "stuck" on. So far, I haven't found a solution to THAT issue yet. Gee, why can't they make these things simpler?

I tried everything, even heating my Palm as described here.
The only thing that really worked for me was pressing the "up" button while pressing the "Reset" button (hard reset). Luckily, I had all of my files backed up. The hard reset truly worked. Good luck to all!
