Got a reply back that maybe my scanner camera device wasn't working. Scanner/photocopier prints all black pages. Light flashes across glass properly though.
Would it cost much to fix that image copier (camera) & could I do it myself easily?

Re: Scanner needs camera device fixed -
Are you using this as stand alone or through the computer?
Whichever try the other way - If standalone try it through the computer.
If in the computer try stand alone.
If in the computer re install software.
If all the variations do not cure it then its good bye to that one and onto the next - there is nothing that will fix.

You cannot make a copy if you are thinking of it like a photocopier. It doesn't have a scanner built into it . If this is what you are thinking there are several quite excellent scanners out there fairly cheap. The scanner will come with software that will make it and the printer behave like a photocopier. The scanner we use at home even has a button that we just press to scan and print a copy as well as software that gives more options.
If you want to just print multiple copies of the page then this you can do. You just have to go to print options on a program menu and tell it to print the page how many times you need. You can also change the number on the printer driver but if you don;t set it back after everything after is going to print a few extra copies.
Changing the Drum does not affect the scanner settings.
You can print because your PC (computer) can see your machine but for scanner is the oposit. The machine must see your PC.
I think that in this machine you have an SD card with the scanner funtion. Try to take it off and then put it on again. (the SD card is on its side. In the controller box)
Are you scanning to your computer? If you are getting an error during the transfer to your computer, check your firewall. I had a scanner (mine is a Panasonic) problem with the transfer to my computer. I corrected it by printing the properties of the scanner and found out the port number that the scanner used and opened the port in the firewall. Hope it helps.
You're right. There is probably debris on the glass where the paper passes through. It's a common problem. You'll have to raise up the scanner so that you can see the glass. Then clean it off and you're back on business.
The black printing usualy occurs when there is a faillure in the light, since your light is working fine, there may be a problem in the imaging device inside(camera) or the reflector. There is nothing wrong with the cartridge.
