Intermittant problems closing the cassette holder and playing the video (using the camera)
I have two problems. Periodically I cannot get the cassette to stay in the camera. I put it in. The camera spits it out and "yells" at me. (My frustrated version of the insistant error beeping.) Usually if I keep trying over and over I can eventually get the cassette to stay in. For the record I've not ever pushed on the part where it says "Don't push this mechanism" or something like that.
My second problem is where I go to play the tape back, or record and you can actually hear the camera make whirring noises like it's going then it's not going, then it's going. The best way I can explain it is whir... whir... whir... whir.... The video doesn't show either, it seems that it will flash on a brief second then won't show anything but blue screen for awhile. Then it will flash another seen. I'm sick about this because we have video of our second child just after she was born. Any thoughts on this? Is this a common problem? We haven't had this camera more then two years.
I have had the same problem with the Elura AND the Canon ZR 65. It simply won't accept the cassette. This my LAST Canon purchase. I've taken no steps to correct the problem. How in the world am I supposed to know how to fix a digital camera? I paid alot of money for it... It should work for longer than 3 months.I have had the same problem with the Elura AND the Canon ZR 65. It simply won't accept the cassette. This my LAST Canon purchase. I am no longer a Sony product fan - this is the most unacceptable performance of any of their prodducts I have ever attempted to use. I have NEVER been able to record ANYTHING with this. The very first cassette - gave me the 'moisture' flashing symbol, and the cassette would not eject. Then after reading a recommendation on this board, I removed and reinstalled the battery a couple of times and the cassette finally popped out - now it won't accept the cassette and close - PLUS will not accept my normal NPfh30 battery and keeps telling me to reattach the power source. and after nummerous tires and camera resets, tried the NPFH100 battery and it tells me that I can not use this battery in the camera. I still get a C:32:11 code and so far this is a non-functional - malfunctioning POS
Turn the unit off and hit the back of the camera twice near the battery compartment with the palm of your hand. Sounds crazy but it worked with my camcorder Sony DCR-TRV480. Problem started when I used 8MM Head Cleaner. I think the roller got stuck inside camcorder. The trouble code came up C:31:22. Hope this helps.
Hi See if this works--If you are on battery there may not be enough power .Charge the battery or use the the mains power through the transformer and see if it works. Hope this helps Jay
Try inserting another tape first. If the trouble is still there,Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.
I have the zr850 which I have used less than a dozen times, and it does the same thing as you describe. Was told by canon tech people to try a maxell brand tape and a head cleaner tape. Have not tried their sugestion yet. camera is 3 months old.
