Drain pump not getting current

The machine gave an E04 code, and upon examining and cleaning the pump and pipes the machine is still inoperable. There is current from the wall through the motherboard and into the yellow switch located on the side of the machine. There is no current from the yellow switch to the white wires going into the drain pump. The yellow switch test hot and I can hear it clicking when turned on but there is no current to the pump. Is there a bigger problem or is there a reset switch?

To date, the problem has not been fixed and $1100.00 of washing machine is in the garage.

Is the inop drain pump the only obvious problem or is there more?

E04 Error

E04 is a time out on the heating phase, to confirm this run a cold cycle, if the machine completes the cycle but sticks on any program above 40 degrees, best bet it's a faulty heating element.

My bosch nexxt wont drain and flashes e04 checked imoeller and cant find any clogs impeller spins freeley

The 03 error code is the drain. Disconnect the drain hoses and check for blockages. If no blockage "time" the drain interval. If it's more than 6 minutes it's the pump. Also make sure you're using the correct type of soap so the ball check valve on the bottom of the outer drum isn't getting fouled with excessive suds. Also disconnect the drain hose from your house plumbing and let it free flow on it's own. This will tell you if the block is in your plumbing, and not in the machine. Assuming that your filter is clean.

I have Bosch Nexxt 500 Washer. It stops draining and flashes E04 error. Any idea what is causing it or how to troubleshoot and repair?

The error indicates that the machine has taken too long to drain the water. Do the following.

  1. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power.
  2. Remove the access panel on the lower right front of the machine.
  3. Remove the filter and make sure that the filter is not blocked and is clean and clear of all debris. Clean as required.
4. Proceed by checking the drain hose for proper connection and kinks and make sure that it is not blocked.
5. Also check that the main waste drain pipe, if you use one, is not blocked and clean if required.
6. Reconnect the power and switch the machine on.
If the problem persists then do the following.
7. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power.
8. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure it is operational.
9. Remove the connecting hoses, and expect water to drain out and make sure the pipes are not blocked with debris or any object blockage.
10. Makes sure the pump appears clear and that the impeller looks in good condition.
11. Reconnect the hoses and then reconnect power and switch the machine on.
12. If problem has not been corrected, then remove the pump and check that the drive coupling to the motor is OK and that the motor turns OK. If all is well then replace the pump.

What is an E04 code?

On the front of the machine is a round access port. Insert a paper clip into the tiny hole and push in, rotate this cover clockwise. Access cover should come right off, now unscrew the plug covering the drain assembly, have lots of towels nearby, or a wet dry vac ready, a lot of water will come gushing out, after you have cleaned up the water find the source of the obstruction within the pump and remove the obstruction. Assembly is the reverse of removal. E04 means that it's taking to long for the pump to pump the water out, it's usually caused by foreign matter within the pump housing, whole infant socks have been know to get lodged in these pumps. Hope this helps.

Washer stopped. E04 beeps but won't spin or continue any cycle. Have shut off machine but only makes a strange sound.

Error code E04 with a full load of laundry and water in the washer. Unplug the power to the washer. Take off the round cover plate in the front right. Mine did not turn clockwise or counter-clockwise, it was completely stuck. Used two flat tip screwdrivers to carefully pry it away, without damaging anything. The plate is a hard plastic but just pliable enough.
Once removed, you will see the pump (img_0001). Unscrew the pump cover slowly. There will be water coming out, so be prepared. In my case we had a LOT of water, so I drained it gradually into a couple of large garbage bags. Wrap the bag opening tightly against the pump surround to minimize spills (img_0002).
Once all the water is gone, remove the pump cover and clean out any items trapped in the pump and in the drain from the drum (img_0003). In my case it was some loose change and a small ColorCatcher sheet. Reassemble the pump and you're done.

Wow - I can't believe it. I had the SAME problem and searched the internet. This was the first site I found and was initially discouraged since there was NO solution, but upon further searching, I found the answer. I'll post the site here http://applianceguru.com/forum2/14805.html and you can just hop on and find out the answer in a much more helpfully worded way than I could ever do it!
I found a girls bobby pin and a rubber band stopping my drain from functioning! I thought it would FOR SURE be legos, but those boys are off the hook!

E04

Perhaps try opening the round panel on the front of the machine at the bottom and cleaning that hose...good luck because it might be messy.
