Question about Panasonic NN-S244 1000 Watts Convection / Microwave Oven
I have a Panasonic NN-4455C - it's an older microwave made in June 1995. Non-inverter. It's been packed away for most of those years though, and only has about 3 years worth of use. The problem is that the microwave won't start about half of the time. I enter the time, press Start, and the microwave seems to want to start but then makes a clicking noise and resets. The clock resets and goes to "88:88" just like when it's first plugged in. If I repeat this several times in a row, I can sometimes get it to work. Once it's working, it stays working until the time runs out. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be and how to fix it? Thanks, Rob
This can be caused by a bad connection on the control panel, at the fuse holder, or the thermal cutout / thermostat on the microwave. I would suspect a bad connection on the control panel which we can repair for you with our $39.95 nationwide service. We have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk I don't have an online source for an exploded view, but I may have a paper coipy here. If you are interested, follow up directly and I can see.
