Hi there, my maytag neptune washer is refusing to start a load though the door seems to be sufficiently closed and locked. the lock button keeps going off and accompanying with a little buzz...
Help?
It sounds like your door lock unit has a bad wax motor. There are 2 wax motors on the unit. 1 which actually locks the door and 1 that presses down on a check switch to tell the computer board that the door is locked. The wax motor that is bad is the one that presses down on the check switch. It is not a part that can be replaced on its own and you will need to change the entire door lock unit

Hi A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock it six times before displaying the error code. It has happened because Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door. It may also happen due to Door switch/lock unit failure. To resolve the issue follow these steps--- 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check door switch/lock unit. 3. Check the wire harness connections to the door switch/lock unit and Central Control Unit (CCU). Hope this helps...Please post back if you need more information. Daniel
If the interlock isn't working it may not allow the machine to start. If you can open the door when it should be locked it's probably a faulty interlock.......Nomess
I had this problem also with my Maytag Neptune TL. The door lock would click muptiple times before displaying the FL code. I was able to fix this by removing the left door look(the one with the door close sensor) and cleaning the 2 metal pones on top of the left door mechanism, which had rusted and no longer was able to since the door closed. I use a nail file i sure eaither that or sandpaper will do. After that it went through the whole cylce without stopping or displaying the "FL" code.......hope this helps
Is it pumping water? If not then pump is bad.
Is the door locking? If the door will not lock, the washer will not enter a spin mode. See if the lock light is lite on the console.
Check for continuity across the Door Lock, Spin Enable Switch when the switch actuator button is pressed in. If there is no continuity across the Door Lock, Spin Enable Switch, replace the Door Lock Switch Assembly.(Check for 120 vac across the Door Lock Wax Motor)
