What is a liquid gas stove? - Camping, Backpacking & Hiking

LPG is Liquid Petroleum Gas. It is a mix of Butane and Propane gas pressurized to form liquid. It can be used to fuel vehicle, stove, water heater etc.

You can still use it safely.

You can put a stove with an empty fuel bottle in your luggage that will go in your checked luggage (under the plane, not the carry-on luggage). However, if there's gas or any fuel in the bottle, there is no way they will let you bring it on the plane. So just make sure it is clean and free of any gas or fuel.

Liquid gas stoves offer plenty of advantages:

Liquid-fuel stoves need to be primed, a process that preheats the fuel line enabling the stove to convert the liquid fuel into a vapor.

Liquid-fuel stoves perform best in cold temperatures. They most commonly run on white gas using a refillable fuel bottle that is manually pressurized with a fuel pump.

The recommended stove for large group camping I advise you to purchase the liquid-fuel stove.

You must replace those controls. Cleaning or loosening them up would be temporary at best and the next time they stick it could be in the open position. Safety first...Eric

Propane is LP...(i.e. Liquid Petroleum)

The burners are working only as a fluke. It is extremely dangerous to operate a natural gas stove on propane. STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY. Call your local propane supplier and ask them about converting it to LP/Propane.
