CAN I REMOVE/REPLACE PRINTHEAD FOR PHOTOSMART C7180?

THE ONLINE VIDEO SEEMS TO HAVE A LEVER TO RELEASE THE PRINTHEAD - NOT VISIBLE ON MY PRINTER.

The entire works of the printer is covered. There are several tiny screws securing it. HP does have a printhead assembly for $36 plus shipping but recommended I get a new printer.

There is a video on You-tube about removing and cleaning the printhead from a similar HP all in one. This information is relevant to the HP C7180, (in spite of what HP tech support might tell you, since HPs solution is to get a new all in one, instead of them trying to solve the problem).

SOURCE: Hp photosmart c7180 will not

I hope you've already tried all the basic steps including cleaning the cartridge and the nozzle (Click here for instructions)
Have you tried with another cartridge? If not, that should be done before you troubleshoot with another method. Otherwise you'll not be able to find out what exactly is the cause, the cartridge or the printer or the driver.

If the same problem persists with the new cartridge, then uninstall printer's driver from your computer and reinstall it. Try printing again.

After driver, your next step will be cleaning the machine. Open this page (click here) and follow the "Step Two".

Let me know the result.
All the best.

HP Photosmart C7180 printer with clogged print head.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles.
Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required. Also try - Removing the print head, run it under hot water for 2 mins, then let soak for 10 min. then used a can of compressed air to dry thoroughly. It may fix the blocked nozzles.
A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.
