I have a Sony Wega Trinitron KV-34HS420 that was given to me by a coworker. He said he dropped the TV at some point but it still worked after that. When it stopped working he gave it to me and he bought another. I am trying to determine how much it may cost to repair the TV. Here's the issue: when I plug the TV in, the standby LED blinks 7 times repeatedly, but when I hit the power button it only blinks 6 times (blinking slower this time) before returning to the quicker 7 blink pattern and there is no picture. I called sony but was unable to get any answers. Help!?!?
That is an error code that tells the tech where the problem lies. It is probably somewhere in the power supply stage. Your best bet is to take it to a TV repair shoppe and let them deal with it. They have all the documentation in order to repair the unit, and they can tell you what the problem is before they work on it.
