My tv sony kds-50a2000 dont tur ON

The 5 blinks is indicating the lamp ballast needs replacement your model uses the Sony lamp Ballast 147401211 for sony models KDF42E2000, KDS-50A2000, KDS-50A2010, KDS-55A200, KDS-60A2000, KDS-60A2010, & KDS-60XBR2 amd LDS-R60XBR2

Unhook the fan and see if the set works, it will work without the fan for testing purposes, chances are the fan is drawing to much current and is being shut down by the TV circuitry

u have 2 problems if u already replace the lamp for this unit , the problem with u tv is a safety swicht and a bad fan , take the back cover off and u would see this little s/w one for the door and another one for the lamp follow those wire , do one s/w at the time cut the wire and puthen together after u have than with the one s/w for the door do the next one this one is little be difficult , do the same way as the first one after that turn the tv on and u would see the the big fan is not ruaning u need to replace this fun , u can get this fan by the model # good look if u have any q? just let me know

your power supply has failed repair/replace it

I have the same problem with my unit. I've been removing the bulb and just replace it back and unit will work again. I probably need to vacuum or check the fan out too.

this type of problem occurs because of 3 issues..
1.colour wheel
2.jungle 45e3 ic on D- board
3.cathode ray tube...

Re-check the lamp door alignment. If the door is not installed properly, the interlock switch will open causing a no start condition. Also observe the red LED on the front panel. When you turn on the TV, a gree LED will blink on and off until the image appears. If the image fails to appear the green LED will give way to a red LED that will flash a specific number of times in between pauses. 3 blinks means the door is not installed correctly. 4 blinks means that a fan has stopped working, etc.

It is the lamp ballast.

it is a bad fan. it also could be a power supply. Quite often the real problem is dirt clogging up the fan(s) to the point that they need to be replaced. Operation of the set in a dirty environment is not a good idea
