Picture looks like 3D without 3D glasses on???

My TV was working fine last night, and then this morning, when I turned it on, the picture is distorted. I can explain it as looking like a 3D movie. The way the screen looks if you take off your 3D glasses. If I was looking at the letter A in the bottom corner, there would be 3 of them, one green, one blue, and one red. This is basically how the whole screen looks. In the center of the screen, it almost is clear (not quite), and as you go toward the corners, it gets more distorted. Please let me know if more description or info is needed. Thanks!

I don't know if I have the same problem, but I can fix it temporarily by pushing "Flash Focus" button on TV. It comes back either some time later or after turning the TV off and on.

I replaced my ic's and went into the service mode to redo the convergence. I cannot get the green verticle lines to move. I have tried the item and followed the repair manual. Anything that am missing. I covered the red and blue lens while working on the green grid. The center pattern works fine. Is there a factory reset on this model?

    Thanks

I had this problem last week. serviceman repaired the convergence issue.

STK392-560 x2 and either fuses or resistors that were blown out

that stk part goes for around 7-10 bucks each on the web

you will need soldering skills to complete the repair.

The other answer here is useless.  Try this, it was mailed to me by a good guy who had already solved this problem.

Here is a link to the Service Manual -
http://www.schematicsforfree.com/archive/dir/Sony/Video - it doesn't really detail this repair. Scroll through and find your model # and download the pdf.The D board is the center
board, and the 2 big heat sinks you see at the back of the chassis are attached to the 2 IC's that you need to change. You can't see the IC's they're attached at the bottom of the heat sinks facing forward away from you. There are three screws at the bottom of the tray housing all the boards, remove them and you can pull the whole tray out about a foot, much easier to remove the board. Several of the plugs are identical, I used
different color touch up paints and dabbed both sides of the
connection, eliminating confusion on re-assembly.

The fuses, if you need to replace them are on the G board, the vertical board to the left. They're yellow, side by side, and fairly easy to spot. I got the parts from MCM electronics, just Google it, and search for STK 392-560. Get two of them.

Good Luck!

My 46" SONY LED has no sound coming out now.

Hi this sounds very much like a dry or bad solder joint probably on the power supply PCB, if you have the necessary soldering skills and a magnifying glass you maybe able to fix this yourself.

The picture below shows an example of what a dry joint(s) looks like, if you are able to solder and understand the risks in taking apart your TV you could save yourself a good few bucks!

Always make sure the TV is unplugged and please be aware that voltages can still be stored even when the tv is turned off, if in any doubt or you are unsure about attempting a repair please consult a qualified TV technician.

Hope this helps

Picture looks like 3D without 3D glasses on???

The cost I don't know, but this can be fixed. I'd say shop around a bit. Make sure the repair person is certified for your TV's manufacturer. There are generally 3 lamps in projection T.V.'s, Red, Green, and Blue. They have to be aligned for the TV to project a clear picture. A credible TV repairman should be able to fix it. Depending on if it's new enough to be under warranty they may cover it as well. Really the only reason to get rid of it is if you want to get a new TV anyway. Depends on the cost of having the lamps aligned.

Looks like watching 3D movie(colors) and rounded

This is a convergence problem and is either bad connections on the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you feel that you can solder, you should be able to repair this yourself. First try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs. If that fails, replace the ICs. These ICs are large black ICs attached to a heatsink and should be marked STKxxx.
Keep us posted.
