The service manual is here, and gives you the disassembly instructions, but does not give part numbers.

So you would have to visit Encompass online or call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

Frigidaire model PLMV178HC control panel replacement

I can't find if there's a difference between model PLMV178HC and PLMV178HCA. Every search for PLMV178HC redirects me to PLMV178HCA. Unless there is grease or moisture on the control circuit board, then you have a shorting membrane keypad.
It is repaired by replacing the control panel frame assembly, which comes with a new membrane keypad already attached.

For model PLMV178HCA, that is part number 5304470533 and you can get it from Sears online for $89.95 (subject to change).

At my Web site, I have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. (Also, the service manual is here.)

If you have any trouble getting the grille off once the screws are removed, slide the hood vent grille to the left about 1/4", then then pull it forward. On some models there are L-shaped clips that fit into a slot to hold bottom of the vent.

Be very careful when disconnecting the cables & wires. Some connectors have a locking tab (see photo) Next remove the keypad strip (see photo) Then simply move your circuit board into the new frame.

Be careful, because your display tube is made of glass, and if it breaks, the board must be replaced as well.

Let me know by e-mail if I can help further.

Change Motor but turn table does not turning?

test the following steps and fix it. God bless you

Turntable Motor

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn the turntable motor might be worn out. This is a common problem and relatively easy to replace.

Touchpad and Control Panel

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn the touchpad and control panel might be defective. This is not common. Test the turntable motor first.

Touchpad

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn and the touchpad has a button to turn the turntable on and off the touchpad might be defective. Check the turntable motor first, that is more likely.

User Control and Display Board

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn the turntable motor might be worn out. This is a common problem and relatively easy to replace. If the motor is good, the user control and display board may be defective.

Main Control Board

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn the turntable motor is usually the problem. If the motor is good the main control board might be defective

Paint coming off inside microwave and buttons at control panel pushed inside of panel so unable to use

The keypad control board may have to be changed, also the cavity paint must be replaced with the right type of compound for microwave ovens.

Ge profile microwave jvm1870sf02 buttons don't work do i need to change the control panel frame or Bkt c/panel

You will need to change the keypad along with the control board, because they are essentially of one piece. But the part will equal, if not more than a new microwave oven.

try opening up the control panel, disconnect the connector ribbon coming from control panel and connected 2 control board by just pulling it out and cleaning end of connector ribbon and iserting it back.some times this works.if not then 4 sure touch panel needs to be replaced.

It sounds like you may have spray cleaner or another liquid in the keypad.

I always recommend that users spray the cleaner on a soft cloth (not on the keypad itself) then wipe the control panel off.

Otherwise, the spray can get into the controls and lock it up or make it act odd.

I recommend a soft cloth since paper towels can scratch the plastic. Also, I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since ammonia can crack and damage plastic.

If it does not dry out over time, it may need to be manually dried or blown out with compressed air.

Ideally the control panel (if it's an over the range model) or outer cover (if it's a counter top type) should be removed to aid in the drying.

The keypad may also be damaged and need to be replaced.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

You can get Samsung parts here.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
