Re: need code or code search proceedure for Advent...
Most Universals work similar for code search, try this on yours.
[list] Manually turn on the device (eg TV) Press & hold Code button until indicator light stays on (or blinks on some) release Search button. Press & release device button (eg TV). The indicator should blink off. Point Remote at device (eg TV). Press the Power button on/off down until the device turns off. Press the ENTER button or OK button to save the code as soon as the device shuts off. (Suggest you have a finger on it for fast response.)
Hope this works for you.

its not likely you'll find these codes as few ever publish them as manuals have become a thing of the past on most devices.
but you have a search function on any remote it might only give you the power on / off an if your lucky the vol control advanced functions rarely ever work on remotes unless you scan them using the original remote into the new master remote
some day i spect there to be a master site with all scanned codes for every tv etc made .. slobber
If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common codes used for devices too are given, in the order of device brand name list in alphabetical order. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device, at its search box, and press "Enter". Or, pull up older posts. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/
Sometimes you can enter a code that will work nearly all the buttons, but is not the correct code for your DVD player. You should try other codes. But sometimes a universal remote will NOT work every function.
