I've had no problems with the LiteOn for several years. Yesterday I tried to load TomTom CD and it started the load then corrupted the USB recognition for an HP 935 camera dock. Since then the LiteOn will not autostart, or be recognized as having any kind of CD or DVD in it, or show cd/dvd contents under explorer. When any cd/dvd/blank is loaded it runs up, blinks a bit, then sits there (lights off). Replaced/updated the driver. Did a system reload. Nothing works. Any help appreciated.
You can download the autoplay repair wizard from Microsoft if thats the main problem, but it may be on its way out, you can also try a lens cleaner cd, but i dont think it will make a difference. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C680A7B6-E8FA-45C4-A171-1B389CFACDAD&displaylang=en The life span of recorders is getting less and less, perhaps because of inferior parts being fitted to keep the prices down.
