On page 81 of your manual it says to adjust your LCD screen brightness.
If you can't find your manual... go here and download it. http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_PE_770%20%20%E2%80%93%20New!_EN_1819.PDF
Try Formatting it in the camera you plan to use it in, also make sure the cards format is compatible, some older cameras wont take the new memory cards on the market today. Cheer's.
There are hardware incompatibilities between SD and SDHC cards. They're upward compatible in that SDHC devices will accept SD cards but not the other way around. You will have to hunt down SD cards, 2GB and smaller.
Try removing and reseating your CPU, video cable and or memory. If nothing stills hapens, your video card or chip may have gone bad. Please let me know if this works.
Try removing the memory card, then performing the problematic functions, then shut off the unit. Wait 5 minutes, insert memory card, turn on unit and perform functions again, see if it works.
remove the memory card and try it work's properly. after u just insert
the memory card i likely to be working.. better u need to format the
memory card..
You cannot use a sd card from another tomtom. The sd card is coded for each individual device. About the only thing you can do is to purchase a 1 gb card (no larger because it won't be supported). Insert the blank card into your unit and connect it to your pc. Go to my computer and see which drive the tt is. format the card and then open tomtom home. This will load your operating system back onto your card. I don't know if you can download a free map or not. Check the tomtom forums for more information concerning maps.
Hope this helps
