Check the thermostat in the refrigerator and make sure it's not accidently turned to the defrost mode

I pulled the refrig out from the wall, turned it off, took off the back panel (that covers the compressor fan and motor) and used the attachment on my vacuum to remove the dust from the area. Then I closed the flapper that allows the ice to release from the ice maker compartment to the dispenser, so no warm air would get into the freezer area. I plugged the refrigerator back in and within an hour it was freezing again! So far this week, I have had to repair the garbage disposal and the refrigerator.....I saved some nice $$$ by figuring this out by myself!

With the PSS26MRSS model the mother control board is suspect in that happening. Unplug and pull away from the wall and remove the cover over a panel that has the board inside. Look at both sides of the board for burn marks. Let me know what you find and if you find the board looks OK then we need to look at the compressor relay and start relay. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Need to have a look at the compressor and main mother board part number WR55X10942. If you would like to do it yourself I will assist you. Will need to spend a little time on this to make sure a fan is not the root cause. If a fan fails it takes the motherboard out with it. So if you change the fan you must change the board. The only thing I think is a good idea now until repaired is to feel the compressor to make sure it is not trying to start and getting too hot to keep your hand on.
