Can I connect this modem to enhance my winxp pro os?

Hello! I purchased a speedstream 5100, at a garage sale. I would like to know if I can use this product with my windows XP Pro. Also, I am limited to dial-up where I live.

    Dear crafty maria

    Thank you 4 the response. however, I don't think that it answers my problem. I have dial-up, with att and it is current. Can I still set-up the modem? Or, would it be futile!

Yes. This can be used for DSL Connection via gateway URL: 192.168.0.1 and make sure that you have DSL subscription to connect to internet succesfully. =)

Thanks.

    Hi! I am sorry, must have passed the line that says you're limited to dial-up in your area. But Speedsteram 5100 is mainly used for DSL connection. So it's no use for you in your area. Better get an internal modem which you can install on your PC for dial-up internet connection.

    Good luck! =)

I need a driver for my speedstream 5100 modem

No, you don't need a driver.
Just use an Ethernet cable to connect from one of the LAN ports on the modem to the network port on your computer, and you'll be connected.

Router to connect or sub the speedstream 5100

Option 1 (easy)
you could buy a switch or router and put in line with your modem.
you will have to set up appropriate networking on the xbox
DSL --> MODEM --> SWITCH <-- PC
^---- XBOX

Option 2 (harder)
you could get a wired/wireless AP (Access Point) for your PC and run ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) through Windows. connect the XBOX through your PC
