Sorry if this answer comes a little late, But if you still have it (I have one also)i found that if you have the cap too tight it will not work. Back it off 1/8th turn, or little by little untill it comes to life

This problem is caused by the 'step' inside the battery cover which prohibits the tip of the battery from contacting the nipple inside the cover. I fitted a thin piece of aluminium strip (20thou) and the rangefinder works perfectly now. Make sure you dont bridge-out the +ve to the neutral (i.e. battery casing).

AllI can suggest is that maybe the battery terminals inside the rangefinder are slightly oxidized, and may need a good cleaning. Other than that, you could be having an oxidation problem with the contacts of a switch inside the camera, which will be challenging to get to, as you know. A good contact spray that doesn't harm plastics might help, if you can get to the components. Otherwise, you may have to contact Leopold support (I couldn't find a support center on the net, so refer to your manual that came with it).
Wish I had more, but that's allI can think of, but hope it helps.

I got a new battery but my leupold rx111 still won`t show anything. Are they prone to quit or I guess it could be a faulty battery.

If the battery you changed is new..be sure you format it well and charge it max..if it is a rechargeable one ..and if it isn't rechargeable ..be sure it is new..and a good quality ..
This devices also have an internal battery for settings and such ..and if it was a long time without power..it may have a faulty internal battery that can affect the display of the readings ..and all ...
Consult the manual to see what kinda internal battery it has..and change that too ..(you have to open it for that ..and the model of the battery it will be written on it ..

I have a leupold digital rangefinder RX IV Boone and Crocket edition, and suddenly stoped working, I changed the battery and nothing happened

This problem is caused by the 'step' inside the battery cover which prohibits the tip of the battery contacting the nipple inside the cover. I fitted a thin piece of aluminium strip (20thou) and the rangefinder works perfectly now. Note that most new CR2 batteries have higher sides which shields the tip too effectively - check it out.

8x magnification

The RX series of range finders are not of the optic quality that other Leupold optics are. I have used my RX IV in place of my binoculars, but it is not adequate for glassing for game full time. The rangefinding abilities left a lot to be desired for me. As long a the object was under 450 yards, it worked fine. Past that was somewhat difficult to get a range at times. Hope this helps.
