Your question is a little confusing, but the only way you can use a already loaded hard drive in another computer is if you put it in the exact same model computer. Windows will crash before it even starts since all the drivers are wrong. If your just trying to install a new blank hard drive then yes you will have no bios problems. Just make sure you buy the correct hard drive. There are different connectors, IDE and SATA.

Yes you can put the hard drive in an external usb enclosure and and pull the files off that way. But make sure you get one for your connector. IDE has pins all the way across the drive sata has a few pins and 2 flat plastic connectors. Also make sure it is for a 2.5" hard drive. They are like 5-10 bucks on ebay.

The computer does not boot into the operating system and displays "Operating System not found."

Hi,
For that problem, do this first check-up your bios setting.
Power on your PC laptop
, when screen popped up ( press F2, delete etc. ) to get into standard bios Setup you see there if your hardisk drive detected or not detected. if not detected try to open your Laptop PC ( need power off. open cover at the back of your laptop ) check-up your hardisk drive for loose power cable, data cable hardisk Some burn , noise hardisk sound ) if detected, your operating system corrupted. you need to Reinstall your operating system like windows xp, windows 7 or linux base operating system. try that Solution first.

Just let me know if not yet working your laptop PC.
Regard.

Have a compact persiro f700 and am getting a message that states that SMART disk failure and windows will not load and cannot boot computer into safe mode Please Advise on what to do next?????

Hi,
You could open the bios set up to check the hardisk and memory card, see if it is being read by the board.
Try to set your boot sequence to "default option" and save the changes. reboot again afterwards.
If there is a rebooting, but still can not read the hardisk, it means, that is a hardware breakdown, mainly the hardisk itself. Try to replace the HD( hardisk) if you have any spare ones, just to check the system.

Your local computer shop can assess it and tell you what causes the problem. we are just advising you if you could repair it by yourself and my pointers to what you are going to repair in your laptop.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for using FixYa!

My laptop Model Compaq 5204NR I want to extend my hardisk. Is it possible to use External Hardisk for this model laptop. If it means how much can i use 1TB hardisk or which is suitable for this laptop....

Hello,

This laptop will accept any USB harddisk as it does have USB ports.

I would recommend a 500GB personally as this is the most cost effective and most users are not likely to need 1TB unless using your laptop as a media center or video/music editing platform.

Boot device not found Please instal l an operating sistem on your hard disk. Hard Disk - (3FO) F2 Sistem Diagnostics Foe more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup

please go to the bios setup by pressing F2. then check your sata hardisk if detected. if not, remove the sata hardisk and use it as external by using external sata case adapter. then plug to the other pc and check if spinning or detected by another pc. once not detected or spinning change your sata hardisk. but if detected, there is a problem on your dv6000Z notebook.

My hp 530 notebook couldn't load into windows. It will just show blue screen and restart. I've changed the hardisk but its the same thing. It seems its not seeing the hardisk

In this case it is an windows problem you need to reformat your notebook. So that the windows have fresh copy. If the same things happen the problem is the RAM you need to replace the RAM.

My laptop is aspire 4315...b4 my partition in laptop is 2 w/c is drive c and d.now i change my internal hardisk,my partition is only one..my question is how to make a 2 partition just like mine b4?dri

New/ Fresh harddisk only has 1 partition. If you wish to make another partition from installed hdd, you may need partition manager software to do the task. Lots of partition manager on the web. Just google a free one. Try also Easeus partition manager. is a free software for partitioning. Resizing an hdd is simply using partition managers. You can do drive letter changing, format and volume naming.

You can also do resizing during installation of your OS.
