The cleaner cds are worthless and do nothing, infact I have seen damage to laser lenses from these cleaners. They should not even be sold. Your answer is to go to the tips and read my tip on proper cleaning of CDs and DVDs. The url is http://www.fixya.com/support/r4119308-clean_lense_cd_or_dvd_player I just posted this today. Let me know if it helps you.
Jensen used to be total junk, but over the years they decided to invest in their junk somewhat. If it plays fine when sitting still then I say dont listen to it and drive at the same time... or buy a better unit. srry...
cds skip irrespective of their positions as the reading lens is the same for all.
you can do the following
1)this seems to be a SERVICING problem with dust playing the spoilsport.
OR
2)buy a new disc (scratchless) , play it in all positions and com pare.
if it skips in all positions, call an electronic engineer who will replace /repair the delay circuit.
your disc is scrath or maybe the lens of your player is already weak,or have dust,if you can do the job, clean it with a soft cotton..wipe carefully with only one direction..try also the lens cleaner.
I had a rca system similar to this little different. It's a problem you'll find in any cd player after awhile. You'll need to replace the laser. It's quite easy google for some instructions to replace a cd laser. Look around for a laser that can read cd's and cd r and cd rw and you'll be ok. The disassembling might be a bit tuff but it's worth it. I had to replace my hifi laser and after i did sound was incredible again no skipping. Make sure when opening your system you power it on and unplug it to make sure all charge is gone wait 30 minutes or so before you go and operate.
If you go out and buy a cleaning disc it may help. You should really
clean a car cd player at least ounce or twice every 6 months to get the
best sound and play out of the unit. You can pick these disc up at any
walmart , kmart , or computer store. Hopefully this can help you out
