Flashing "Washing" light on my frigidaire 1000 series dishwasher
I just worked the other day now when I press the start/cancel button to start the dishwasher all it does is flash the "washing" light...no water is coming into the unit. I've tried the breakers in the house, no luck. The unit is just over one year old...Any ideas? Thanks
Re: Flashing "Washing" light on my frigidaire 1000 series...
Possible solution. I had the same problem of "washing" light flashing last year and now today. Warranty has been expired for awhile, so no harm in trying. What worked for my situation was removing the six screws for the back of the plastic control cover. Take of the plastic cover. There are are two connectors to the HANDLE with white and black wires. To be safe I would shut off the ciruit to the dishwasher. Safety first. Carefully disconnect and inspect the contacts inside the connectors. Do not insert any metal objects if you left the power on. I believe that the moisture from the dishwasher can degrade the connectivity. I cleaned the contacts with q-tips and re-installed. Be careful to not bend the contacts. If you had sound, you could hear my dishwasher running. Total cost is about three cents. I believe that the connectors do not full close when corroded, which prevents the completion of the circuit to the controlls. The flashing light indicates that the door is open, when in fact it is closed. Hopefully this will help someone. Semper Fi

You may want to try:
Press a series of four buttons in quick succession. Press "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" to instruct your Kenmore dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test.
Wait for two minutes while your Kenmore dishwasher runs its diagnostic test.
Press the "Cancel/Drain" button once your dishwasher has completed its diagnostic test. This should reset your dishwasher control panel.
Check to make sure that there's no standing water in the bottom of your dishwasher. Standing water in your dishwasher may indicate that your dishwasher has stopped mid-cycle. You will need to press the "Cancel/Drain" button before you can reset your dishwasher control panel.
Hello & Welcome to FixYa Flashing clean light is reset by pressing two buttons in sequence 3-4 times, to reset your kenmore press these buttons in sequence: High temp wash-heated dry-high temp wash-heated dry Please get back to me if you have any other questions. Kevin
Your dishwasher will do this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water. Sometimes just a false reading.
Reset your console by pressing: high temp wash, heated dry, high temp wash, heated dry
When all the lights are on you are set in diagnostic mode. Just hit cancel a you will be able to run yourdishwasher as normal.
If this same light appears again then you have a bad element or thermostat.
If your pressing the cancel button the small drain pump will come on, however the main motor will not until you do the above sequence.

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.
To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence... -high temp wash -heated dry -high temp wash -heated dry

Press the normal wash then heated dry buttons in the same sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the cancel button. It will clear any existing faults and makes the dishwasher to operate normally. To prevent the issue from recurring, run your hot water faucet first to ensure that hot water is present in the entire supply line before starting the filling.

the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic
cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2
minutes). You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit
(ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could
also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed
(slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door
when you close it).
holding the button for four seconds will not do it, you have to hold it until the light stops blinking and
will go back to normal, normall takes more than four seconds to unlock the unit, this is something

My dishwasher Model is 665 15891790 and the serie #FG3907905.
After programing my dishwasher and pressing the start button, it fills with water, but when it is due to start the sensing light comes on. I have notice that the ring under the watering arm on the bottom of the machine seams to be cracked. Could that be the problem for the machine not starting its' cycle.
