My SONY DRU-810A DVD Writer doesn't work with TDK DVD+RW Disc
As it is mentioned in the title of the problem, I have a SONY DVD write DRU-810A It can't recognize a rewritable disc (TDK DVD+RW model)!!! I am working with this rewritable DVD on my laptop with no problem (DVD device on my laptop is NEC DVD+-RW) but SONY can't even format or erase the disc!!!
Any body can help me?
I have upgrade the firmware from 1.0a to 1.0f both nothing solved!!!!

Some dvd brands dont work with all dvd writers, so your option is to try another make, if that works ok then it's not a writer fault it is just that the media make is not compatable.
if you start to see problems with all makes of disc then the writer laser is faulty and a replacement drive neccasary.

yes, most of the dvd recorders are like that. you must read the user guide to find the correct dvd brand to use. i have a toshiba (i can only use maxell, (best) tdk ,dynex (good) and memorex (Ok)) fuji sony pansonic will not record nor play.
An exclamation point means that there is a problem with the device. Could be as simple as a corrupted driver. Try unistalling the drive from Control Panel>Add/Remove Harware. Reboot; then reinstall drive. Hope this helps.
