Playing DVDs on a PS2 is a hit-and-miss venture. Sometimes they play well, but many times they won't. Very unreliable. Not much you can really do about it, either.

you can not play a pirated cd because of different region you need the assistance of a technician by modifying this, probably the change of the lens is the correct answer

get ur ps2 modded then u can play pirated/burned games.
SOURCE: i am not able to play duplicate dvd in my ps2 console.
you would need to get the playstation modified from any local shops, refer to any person who knows how to do it, a small hardware change and it will start playing copied discs.
