Freezing on start up

When I turn on the MP3 player it freezes on start up, even when plugged into the computer. Will not charge or anything because it will not go past the start up screen

  • grahamfam7 Jan 03, 2009

I can not get the mp3 to turn on. The only screen that comes up is when I connect it to the computer and it says "OK to disconnect". The battery symbol is empty as well, so I don't know how to charge it. My daughter threw away the manual, so I am lost. I have tried the reset button but nothing happened.

Ok what you want to do is load up your device manager (this comes with the mp3 player) after this has loaded press and hold the plus button on the volume your device manager will detect that there is a problem and will ask if you want to repair it, click repair, it will then tell you to unplugthe device and a blue screen will appear on the player and says somthing like loading. plug the player back in once the screen says complete and it should go through its normal process when you plug it into the computer, or it did when it happened to mine hope this helps.

My Sansa e260 is freezing after few minutes of work

Sometimes holding the power button for about 30 seconds will make it reset itself. Then you can push the power button again to turn it on. It works for me so you might as well give it a try.

Hey my name is jesse

Sounds like a firmware problem.

Run the Philips Device Manager to repair the device. This will format the player and re-load the corrupt firmware.

The player is not Apple compatible so don't plug it in to one.

Still wont work

try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.

By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?

I hope it won't keep freezing on you after the update
