I have gone on the Hp web site and preformed all the suggestions, but to no avail.
I even spoke with the on-line tech thru HP all they want to do is sell sell sell.
I have done a partail reset and a full reset, but a still getting the sputtering. I can not print anything. Or scan.
I have disconnected and reconnected till I am Blue in the face.
I installed the printer with the on-line Cd I made titled
gc_w01_ENU, I have used this before on this computer and it worked, but I have since done a F10. Twice actually. I originally used gc_w01_ENU on 10-11-06. During installation it noted that something was in error and that it might not work? Help!
I have since uninstalled that from add remove.The director would not work at all.

Describe the sputtering. Also, i remember the 2410 having to be halted in sales until a critical update CD-ROM was shipped and added to every box. You might want to look for that.

HP no longer provides support for drivers for this printer. The newer Windows OS will support the printer natively, but sometimes it requires a little finesse from the user. maybe it suffered loss connection between the printer and the printhead just try to clean it..with alcohol..or maybe you print cartridge has in it's low ink state..

you can order all components of an HP product from HP's website or through phone.This is the best way to solve your problem.
Your question is not complete...though I would suggest you to visit HP's support web page ad all information is available on error codes. This could do more than my advise.
