LG 32FZ10PX - I have the 32 LG named here and last night of its own accord it switched to standby during watching.
When I try to switch back on it makes all the right sounds then picks up the audio from my cable box (but no picture) but then shuts down to standby again (the power light dulls)
MY partner has recently started switching the TV off by the mains (global warming!) and this may have caused the problem. Although I am due an upgrade I did not expect to replace this so soon can you advise.
Thanks

Hi there i have hed the same problem with my television, its the same model i believe. I am sure i have just fixed mine though.
I resoldered some joints on the main circuit board, there were 3 dry joints.
It has been working now for a week and hasn't gone off once..

Hi,my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. Its going in to protection standby mode. Something in the high voltage is shutting it down. Try to unplug it , wait 30 minutes and try it again. Thanks for Choosing FixYa....John
Tries unplug, replug both tv and cables or satalites boxes an hour later.Tv should reset it self back to factory, pay boxes upgrade it softwares. The tv should work, back to normal. Not, take another tv test that incomming brocasting signal cable. If the incomming brocasting signal is good.Than the tv Tuner board is dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish Tuner board for the replacement.
I think you are looking at a power board problem. I had the same thing happen to a Vizio and I replaced the power board and it solved the problem. It could also be the input board but most likely the power board.
Hey up, Im affaid to say that i will be no help to you on this occasion but i have EXACLY the same problem. I have had a free quote from a (so-called) tv expert and he reckons that it sounds like either a loose connecton or could be dry or dirty connections. If it is simply that it should cost around £50 to £60 but until he takes it and opens it up he cant really say wheather some other componants have gone in it. If they have it will cost for the new part and the fitting (price unknown). The fella said he was going on holiday for 3 week and will get in touch when he gets back, will wait a couple more days then give him a ring. If i find anything out i'll let you know. (could you do same for me please? my email is [email protected] cheers.
Oh, question for you! After i have tried turning it on a few times i can smell like a faint electrical burning smell from the back grill (near where the power cable goes into it). Does your's have the same problem?
this s gizmofreak
the solution to the above problem
this s because of pinchusion magnets in the tv make some allignments in that magnets then the pictures will appear properly.
If the standby light is blinking 5 times then repeating, it is likely a problem in your picture tube or related circuitry. Other possibilities include the "Jungle" IC which takes care of the video, chroma and deflection processes and is a bear to replace. Either way, it could be an expensive repair.
