SOURCE: My Plasma TV is in for repairs
It depends on the parts availability from Philips and also partly on how much business the shop does for them. When I worked for a big retailer on TV service, we had problems with RCA sometimes not being able to supply parts. Then when they finally had them their "official" service centers got them first. While the shop may be feeding you a line, they may really be having troubles. If they are a certified center, they should have a Philips rep they can deal with to try expediting the part. You didn't mention whether this is a warranty repair or if you're paying; if it's warranty they (Philips) should be trying to get you done faster so you'll stay a happy customer.

If I have the right manual you should connect the wii cable from the package to th backside of the tv. You will see four pluges. Choose with VGA you want to use, this is not important. Use the cable from the wii and plug in two of three pluges, you must match te coulors. If you have a cable box installed you will probably have scart (a big cable with a large head) connect this and it would run smooth. You can also connect the three pluges from the cable to your cable-box, use the red, wihte, and yellow pluge.

Try a web search for "instruction manuals". There are many available.
SOURCE: Philips LCD TV "47, model PFL 8404H/12, NO SIGNAL on all 4 HDMI
This is quite tricky as it was working until last night and suddenly stopped receiving signals. What can happen wrong?
Do you have any other Player or other HDMI cables to try out. Sometimes the cables would be damaged or PC may fail to detect the HDMI.
Try this out from Philips helpdesk where there is new SW and FAQs are available.

Let me know if you are not able to upgrade the FW (if you do not get the support on ugprading)
SOURCE: whats causing horizontal lines in my philips 42
There are very fragile ribbons that are attatched to the top of some LCD displays, if these have been pinched or damaged in anyway, this can create what you are describing. Was the LCD panel ever hit by like a wii remote around the tv bezel or did it fall without cracking the screen? It could be something simpler like, some really wrong color settings or something...
