Not able to install Xante Accel-A-Writer 4n on Leopard MacBPro

I've got a new MacBook Pro running OSX 10.5.6, and I'm not able to install the necessary software to enable me to print to my Accel-A-Writer 4n. In checking Xante's website it's not apparent that they provide the suitable print drivers for Leopard. Are there any third-party vendors that have what I need? Ier.

thanks

Don Hammond

SOURCE: Will Accel-a-writer 4n work running Leopard 10.5.6?

Just download the PPD Installer from here: AW4N_OSX then install the driver. Use System Preferences -> Print and Fax to create new Xante Printer using Default or Apple Talk section of Control Panel.

My Xante Accel-a-Writer is not communicating with my macmini. I understand that OSX 10.6 doesn't support appletalk, and have configured the xante as an LPD printer and entered its IP address. The mac...

Hello,

First, I would recommend that you connect the Xante Accel-a-Writer to a Windows OS computer (xp/vista). Observe if it will function perfectly. This will determine whether you are doing something wrong or if the problem is from the Xante Accel-a-Writer or if they don't support each other.

You can test the Xante Accel-a-Writer on a friends windows OS computer if you don't have one.

Let me know the out come so that I can direct you further.

Good luck.

Xante accel-a-writer 4g for mac OSX 10.6

I haven't checked in a while. Xante told me when I called them that they were not planning to make updates past the current version of the 4G OS X drivers, as the machine was no longer in production. They said the driver should perform adequately on current versions of OS X even though it was not initially designed for them (as they did not exist when the driver was created).
I found this to be untrue in my case. The drivers did not allow me to print consistently from 10.5.8 on an Intel Mac Pro.
My solution was to activate the print server on an Xserve running the Tiger server version of OS X, install the Xante driver there (since it was designed to run on that version of the OS), and now my newer macs can use the printer without issue.

Yes. If you need the driver here is the link. Just scroll down to operating system and choose Mac OS X. If this takes care of your problem please rate as fixed. Thanks.

Slow Printing under Adobe CS3 in OS X 10.4 environment

I had the same issue with 3 users and was able to solve it with a really easy fix. Set the dock to hide itself. I know it sounds weird, but there's a new print progress bar added to the CS3 icons, and that seems to be where the problem is caused. I'm assuming you have an Intel Mac?
