It could be a faulty printer cartridge(it happens). One way to check for this is put in your old cartridge(even if its empty!). If the printer goes to a ready state with your old cartridge, then the new cartridge you replaced might be the problem! if you are refilling cartridges, check out this site http://www.inksupply.com/chipreset.cfm let me know how this turns out regards, babb

Epson ink cartridges have memory chips. If you refill a cartridge it will still show as empty until the memory chip has been reset. The printer will not normally print if it thinks the ink is empty. This is to protect the printer as the ink is energized as it is used.
Refill ink sellers on line usually have the Chip Reset tool available to buy (SK168-II).

Red paper.jpg paper and red inkout1.jpg ink light flash alternately and green power.jpg power light is off possible problem: Paper may be blocking movement of the print head. Turn off the printer, then open the cover and remove any jammed paper or other foreign objects. Turn the printer back on again. If the lights are still on, that means the printer is having a hardware issue if: Green power.jpg power light is off; red paper.jpg paper and inkout1.jpg ink lights flash (quickly) possible problem: The printer may have an internal error. My Epson is printing pages in code and will not stop and the green light is blinking and the red is staying on. We put in new ink cartridges today.

zark4, The green light flashing means you have print jobs waiting to be printed. Don't Turn Off The Printer When The Green Light Is Flashing ! If you have paper in the printer, the red light means you have an empty ink cartridge. Because both things are happening at the same time, here's what you need to do. First click start. Click printers and faxes. Double left click the Epson C-60 Icon. Left click Printer and click Cancel all documents and click yes, then exit. Remove and reinsert your new ink cartridges to make sure they are seated correctly. After you have done this and the printer finishes the automatic charging of the ink cartridges, the lights should be back to normal. Green light on.

Epson C66 red light stays on for ink

The first time you install ink cartridges, the printer must charge its print head for about 90 seconds. Wait until charging finishes (the green power.jpg power light stops flashing) before you turn off the printer, or

it may charge improperly and use excess ink the next time you turn it on. If the printer stops moving or making noise, but the green power.jpg power light is still flashing after 5 minutes, turn off the printer. If the light is still flashing when you turn it back on, contact Epson.
Turn off the printer, then make sure the ink cartridges are inserted completely and the ink cartridge cover is closed completely. Also make sure no packing material remains in the printer. Wait a moment, then turn the printer back on to clear the error.

Change printer ink

Turn on the printer.
lower th epirnter's output tray, pull out the extension, and open the cover.
press and release the ink button.
if your ink lights is on or flashing, the printer head moves to the left, and the cartridge that need to be replaced stops under the ink out mark.
open the cartridge cover
Pinch the back tab of the empty cartridge as your left it out of the printer.
shake the ink cartridge 4 to 5 times while it is still in the package.
unwarp the new ink cartridge and lower it into the holder. Push down gently until the cartridge is firmly seated.
repeal the procedure if more than one ink cartridge is out.
close the cartridge cover.
close the printer cover and press the ink button.
The green power light flashes and the printer makes noise. charge takes about a minutes. When it's finished, the green power light stops flashing and stay on, and the red ink light should go out.

HP 932 RED LIGHT STAYS ON

The light you describe is the ink light.
When that light is blinking, try this.

Turn on the printer. Open the front cover and look at the carrier for the ink cartridges. There is a white arrow right above the latch for the color cartridge.
Once the carrier stops moving, the white arrow should be pointing to a symbol which represents the problem (the reason the light is blinking.) Examples are low ink black, low ink color, sick black ( replace ) , sick color ( replace ).

IF you have just replaced your black cartridge, you might need to replace your color cartridge too.
This printer will not work without both ink cartridges installed and full.
You cant print with a full black and an empty color cartridge unfortunately, even if you only want to print black.

Hope this helps!
