While using the computer my monitor randomly goes black, need to turn it off and back on (sometimes more than once) to get picture to re-appear. Power light is still green when the screen goes black. Tried replacing video card and tried monitor on another computer, no sign of the problem on other computer and problem still persists with new video card. Any insight to this issue would be greatly appreciated!
I too have an LCD Xerox - it worked fine for a while, then kept going blank. Unplugging and reconnecting from both pc and power seems to reset it. It hadn't happened for months but started again the other night when it occurred to me that I have downloaded MS security updates - I've removed the ones that I downloaded just before it started happening again and the problem seems to be solved. Hope this helps someone.

Re: Screen goes blank
Screen going black would indicate a data flow problem- but then you would see a warning saying words to this affect
or a back light/inverter problem.
If by looking slightly sideways at the sreen you can see 'shadow images'[try a moving image to be syre] then you have a backlight /inverter problem
If you see nothing at all ckecj the data cable pins- one or more may be bent

If you turn the monitor off then about 1020 sec turn it back on and have
a picture for five sec again it sound like the power supply in the
monitor. but if that did not solve the problem, the
picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few
seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the
picture
board of your monitor has developed fault and will need to be replace.
I
advice you replace the picture board on the screen of your monitor to
solve the problem of the blank screen.
I too have a dual monitor Samsung SyncMaster 204 setup. My monitors started flickering, then a week later had turn on problems like your describe. I found a fix on this fixya website and followed the fairly techie suggestion. It worked. I wrote up a .pdf set of instructions so others might also benefit. Hope this helps. Doug
if this goes blank randomly, it could be that there's something wrong with the monitor or its starting to die on you. if there's a factory reset button on the monitor, you can try doing it and if that is still not going to resolve the problem then just get it replaced if its still under warranty and if not then get another one.
If you're working on the computer when that happens, it's not probably a power setting. Try to update your BIOS to the most current version at the toshiba support website (support.toshiba.com) & see what happens. Fixes the issue most of the time
I had the same problem for about a week and solved it yesterday by
downloading the latest driver by NVDIA who makes my video card (NVDIA
GeForce 6200).
I had previously updated the latest Sony driver for the monitor. It did
not solve the problem but could be part of the solution in conjunction
with the new video card driver.
