My Fuji Finepix S1000FD camera will not download the pictures from the camera to my laptop. It's really weird because it worked once, but now it keeps saying something along the lines of "file not found." What should I do? Can I get a card reader? Are they expensive?

Instead of using the usb plug that the camera has go to best buy, show them your card, and ask for a card reader
what this will do is plug into a usb port, and it will read the data off of the card, completely bypassing the program

I have lost all of this last year of pictures twice now,, my finepix s1500 is giving me read error on the memory card and cant retrieve pix

Carefully clean the card contacts - try again - no joy - try in a card reader. I have several Finepix cameras and not one has failed in this manner. Good luck.

I have a Fuji Finepix S8000fd, and i inserted the memory card just now after uploading photos to the computer, and it said 'read error' and wont show any pictures stored on the card on the camera, please...

You will lose whatever is still on the card but you could try to 'Format' the card, either by right clicking on it in the 'My Computer' page on your PC, or by using the menus on you camera.

I have the fuji s1000fd and i need to take some indoor basketball photos today what should i set the camera on ? Most of my pix are very yellow.

You need to set the white balance for the kind of light in the gym. Take a few test shots while changing the white balance each time until you're happy with the color. For indoor shots, set your ISO to at least 800 and turn off the flash unless you're 10-12 feet from the action. If the camera has some sort of shake reduction, turn it on.

My Fuji 1500s 10 Mp camera will now power on when USB cable is connected. As per the upload instructions on the monitor, I am to plus the USB cable into my computer, then into the camera, then power on the...

You need to turn on the camera while plugged into the USB port. Then pull up the Windows Control Panel. Next go to Scanners and Camera Icon. You should find an icon there with the camera listed. Do a right click and check on Actions. You will then select "run this program on connection" and then select the Finepix Viewer. Turn off the camera and then turn it on and the system will now connect you to Finepix when the camera is connected.

My photos wont upload

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My computer is not showing when my camera is plugged in

Make sure the camera is turned on, plug the USB cable into your PC first, then into the camera, wait for a beep from your PC to show it has recognized the hookup, then go to "My Computer" and look for the Fuji icon. Don't unplug the camera anytime the lights are flashing on it.
