This part rarely fails in this set so let me know if sweep transistor is shorted or what?

To answer: Contact JVC with the correct model number and try to get the part number---nothing JVC will be cheap but with the actual part number you can Google to see if available.

I would also suggest checking someone like Suburban Electronics who sells a lot of these parts---online catalog and or phone.

Noisy flyback transformer tcl CRT TV model 14F1

They often begin buzzing when the oil inside them gets old or evaporates from a cracked housing. It needs replacing however be very careful. Flyback have 50000 to 100000 volts in them even when the tv is off. There is a safety discharge procedure however if you are not familiar with replacing a flyback do not attempt it yourself. FLYBACK TRANSFORMERS CAN SEVERLY INJURE OR KILL YOU.

Cannot Find Flyback Transformer 60PP9202/17F

Contact Philips directly. They should be able to get you the part, even if they have to get it from another repair shops. Many repair shops purchase their parts from factory authorized distributors, not from the manufacturer. The flyback transformer powers the tube-it can be extremely dangerous to work on-EVEN with the tv off, they contain a lot of power somethjing like 50,000 to 150,00 volts. It is not fun getting shocked by one of these as many techs have been knocked unconcious by them. If you do not know the proper procedure to discharge a flyback then leave it alone!

Flyback transformer and horizontal output transistor change out

There is a little loose sleeve at the transformer. It can be pulled out, but it is best to squeeze the sides through hole on each side of the terminal to remove the sleeve. The wire just comes out with a small pull afetr the sleeve is removed. Good luck.

36" RCA- loud whine/squeal when it is plugged in, otherwise no power.

The HOT Hortz output transistor has gone home, 99% of the time from a faulty IVHT (Flyback Transformer), very common on the ctc187cl* chassis. The factory Flyback is no longer available, I have had problems finding an aftermarket one to replace it with.

The HOT is a BUH517, but you can also use a 2SD5129. It is the transistor mounted on the siler heat sink with a metal clip rather than a screw, just in front of the flyback.....

If you replace just the HOT, most of the time you will get a rapid arc (27,000volts - BE CAREFUL!!!) from the lower (yoke) post on the flyback. If the flyback is shorted, It may also just burn out the HOT and go right back to "squealing"....

Good luck finding the flyback!!!

RCA P52937 Flyback Transformer question

The lead going from the flyback to that other device is a voltage divider or splitter as they're incorrectly referred to... To remove the leads press down firmly, twist and then pull up...
