My xbox 360 just grinded my brand new Rockband 2 disc.
I got the game for christmas 2008. just seven days ago! my console has never had any problems whatsoever. it still plays all my other games and dvds just fine. it grinded rockband 2 in three different places; about 1/2 an inch from center, about 1 inch from center, and on the outside edge, which is by far the most damaged. Rockband 2 was bought new about three weeks ago as a christmas gift from my friend to me. it remained sealed until christmas day and i have only played it about 4 times. it had no visible damage until today. while i was playing it it made a strange noise and stopped playing and on the tv screen said unable to read disc. all three grinds are in perfect circles.

The Xbox 360 is known for this. I would contact Microsoft as soon as possible.

Now.. if it's four red rings, check your component cables, unplug them, then plug them back in, if it's only three lights flashing with the top-right quadrant remaining idle, then there is a problem with your hard drive and you have to send it in for repairs.. but as far as the fact that it won't play any games, try to get a disc that will clean the eye of the console something like "Maxell" player cleaner, that usually works.. if that doesn't help.. sorry
