So a while back i had installed daemon tools to use with mounting files.. however i noticed one day when i went to burn a cd that it said i had to drive. Somehow all record of my dvd drive had been removed from my comp... no drivers.. no trace at all. I removed daemon tools and installed various fix downloads to bring back the drives but nothing worked. Today i actually redownloaded daemon tools and for some reason my real cd drive appeared. however now my comp thinks its just a dvd drive and not a dvdrw... any ideas??
I'm not familiar with daemon tools, but check what Device Manager (right click My Computer, Manage, then Device Manager)things about your drive. If it shows up incorrectly there, try deleting it, then rebooting or doing a "scan for hardware changes". And it's always a good idea to go to the manufacturer's website and checking for updated drivers, I've noticed especially with laptops, they come out ALL the time. Good luck!

well i have looked under device manager and for the longest time it didnt even appear there but for the now that its back its just under a generic microsoft driver.. i deleted it and tried the regedit fix but then i scan for new hardwar it will just give it the same driver which doesnt work but it wont read any cd i put in the drive anyways. Iv tried the toshiba website but unfortunately the driver on there didnt do anything after i installed it. also i cant find the boot disk but im not sure that will help anyways because it wont read any disks i put in it.
I need an "image" of solidworks 2013 software and the generated serial numbers for a "free" product key to mount onto my virtual hard drive (Daemon tools lite)
