Normally tech side programming
If you do not know how to program, navigate or the password call a tech.
otherwise go to Sets/Ext#/Line Access/Line Assignment, enter line # in question, press Change until you see the option you want ie.e appear only or not assigned.

SOURCE: Our office has 13 phones

You will have to go into system programming, under sets, line appearances. You will need to set the lines on the phones to appear and ring, not just appear.

SOURCE: lines ring to intercom

It sounds like although they're labeled as line buttons actually they're programmed as station buttons.
If you press feature *0 and one of the buttons it will tell you what the button is programmed as.
Also did you try pressing the intercom button then dialing 9? that might be the way the set was programmed.

SOURCE: Our office has a combination

Dial "F * 0" (Feature, star, zero), which is Button Inquiry, and press an intercom button to see the extension number of the telephone. If Set Relocation is set to "Yes", then the extension number & mailbox will follow the phone when it is moved. Move only two phones at a time, and wait until they completely "boot-up" before moving additional phones.
Hope this helps.

How can I get the dial tone turned back on without lifting receiver? I want to be able to lift the phone and answer without pushing Line 1

To answer a ringing line by just lifting the handset that phone has to be programmed to ring on that line. This is done in the programming mode under 'terminals&sets/show set__/Line Access/Line assignment/Show line:__/...then your choices are: Appear and ring,Appear only, or Unassigned. Choose appear and ring on each line you want to answer from that telephone. Hope this helps.

M7310 - 3 phone set system - line 3 on one set does no ring tone

Feature * 6 is for the ring tone of the set, it doesn't change the cadence (ring tone) on a line...

The only way to change the ring tone on a line... it would require everyone that has that number to change.

You need to go into the programming
-> look for LINE and enter
-> put in 003 for line 3 and enter
-> under TRUNK/LINE DATA find DISTINCT RING and change
-> REL to end programming...

Now that line 3 will ring differently. But it will ring differently on everyone's sets that has line 3 on their phone

Norstar M7310 auto attendant problem

As far as changing the # of rings, that may be your phone company. Feature 983 will get you in to change to number of rings. It goes as follows:
Feature 983
System coordinator mailbox # and password
OK
AA
Lines
Enter Line Number
OK
Table
Rings
CHNG
Enter the desired number of rings
If after changing the number of rings the Auto atendant does not pick up at all, You have to call your phone company and set up the second delay through them. We had the same problem here.
