Limited connectivity I recently connected a router to my computer. I will be able to connect to the internet for a couple of hours then i lose connection on both my laptop and desktop. desk top says it can't find the server and the laptop has a strong signal from laptop to router but no internet. if i reinstall the router then i get a connection on both again for a limited time. I think the problem is between my router and desktop. I have AVG antivirus and the router is set up for WPA personal and my laptop has Norton. Any advise would be helpful. i Have the same problem I also have an antivirus however I dont have to reinstall I just powercycle the router and my modem and im connected within a couple minuites... still a very annoying problem... My computer is hardwired thru the router and im running my nintendo wii through the wireless network when it goes down I cant connect on either device... any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Your router may be configured to "connect on demand". Enable the setting called something like "Keep Alive"

Connected to WiFi but cannot connect to internet. Many other devices working fine on the WiFi. Reset phone and router. Still no luck.

Will your phone connect to internet through a router anyplace else? If it will then it's possible maybe that the settings in you router have limited how many devices can connect at one time. Maybe try disconnecting a couple of the other devices long enough to see if your phone will connect to the internet through your router then. If so you can Google the address for your router the connect VIA hard wire to your router go to it's page and maybe change a setting that will allow for more devices to connect through it! Thank you, hope this helps.

No connection, cant install the software

You said that when you connect the computer to the modem, you get limited or no connectivity. make sure that your computer will be able to go online when you connect it the modem directly.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router ad the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Spontaniously lose internet connection to status "limited or no connectivity" intermittently and have to reset and reconfigure. this can be after 1 hour of use or several days

We have solved our wireless connection loss by connecting the Hawkings by cable to the first computer needing a signal from it a second computer is able to connect to it OK, these two computers are upstairs and the main computer with router is downstairs this is working OK at the moment without the frustration of losing the internet connection

Connection lost after a couple hours

Istall a good firewall! Sounds like spyware to me, probably something blocking new connection leaving the computer. You can try downloading ZoneAlarm at www.download.com, also try runnig asome anti spyware progs like spybot-search&destroy and Lavasoft's adaware good Luck
