If you go on-line with a computer there is an option on x-box live but there is also an option to remove your credit information right on the x-box itself.
I believe it actually asks you if this information can still be used when you go to renew it or if you were to go in and try to renew his subscription use a credit card number like ie. "0000-0000-0000-0000" and it will decline it and then that is the number that will be tried and it will always decline.
Next time make sure to just buy the microsoft cards from gamestop or your local corner store or chain pharmacy that give you the option of 1,3 or 12 month cards. I do not like using my credit card online because of the automatic renewal that happens. I hope that this helped. Sometimes a little patience and some trial and error will do the trick.

To play ONLINE Call of Duty then you will need a Gold account. I am assuming that you had bought a 3 month membership to Gold and that is why it has run out?

If the Xbox 360 is used then you still might have a few free trial periods free for 1 month Xbox Live. If I recall previously you could load up to 4 trial accounts. So try just creating a new user profile and see if it doesn't give you one month free for that account? If not then the previous owner has used all the trial accounts.

Make sure you don't use a credit card when signing up to Xbox Live though... it will automatically be set to charge you for renewal when your Gold Account runs out.

If you have to get a Gold account then I recommend you purchase the Live cards at your local store. Some people go onto Ebay and find cheap deals... but I have heard of a few people complain when getting cards that don't work.

oh so bad. i don't think this option is possible to you. but, as you have said, you cannot contact them, so you need to do something from your end to stop the auto-renewal of your subscription.
1. try to go to the page that you said where you can change your credit card information. change the info if it is possible, so that your card will not be charged for renewal. change tha card number, the 3-digit code, your name, whatever just to deny the automatic renewal. when they can't charge the card you entered, then your renewal is denied, and you can buy another antivirus product. I don't know if this is possible in your case. just a suggestion
2. call your Credit Card Bank issuer and asked them to deny the auto-charging done by the software-vendor. In my own case, with HSBC, they are very very very cooperative. they put my account on "monitor" and they called me right away when the alleged "floating" auto-charge was the one i wanted to cancel. they told me about the name of the company making the charge and when I confirmed that it was the non-responsive phone company, they blocked it and I was out of perpetual trouble.
