Not sure what exactly happened, but one day my camera was working fine then the next day it no longer turned on even after inserting fresh batteries [trust me, I tried various brands as well.] As far as I know I didn't drop it so I am not sure what happened. Anyone know what I might be able to try or have the same issue?

my camera does the exact same thing. first time it happen i had to wait a week for it to magically turn on again, i was gonna bring it in cuz i had warranty but that exact same day it decided to work so lol but now my wont take any pictures! ugh. but yeah i think your gonna have that turn on problem more often. lol you gotta let it sit for like a day. even when its charging you dont want to have it over charged even tho its not working. gotta let it cool. this camera sucks but i love it :( i think im just gonna have to get a new one
Did you reolaced battery that evening, if you did then try holding the battery door tight and the turn it on. If this will solve it it means that there is a play in battery door that happens very often if someone is not careful enough while replacing battery or merory card.
Wow, this is trully amazing. I went to do a search on why my camera wouldnt turn on the past couple of days, even after i charged all THREE of my batteries and found similar complaints within the same time frame!! WOW. We need to get together and fight this, cause its suspect!!! I bought mine in Mass, anyone else?
I have the same camera - and almost exactly the same problem. It was working fine one day, next day not.
I've done the battery thing - it's apparenty not the battery.
Actuall, I have it a good "whack" with my hand and got it to turn on once, but don't think that's really very good for it in the long run.
This camera is only about a year old - and I use it OFTEN.
