Question about Lasko 2115 Wind Tower Fan

How to open the casing

How do you open the shell of a Lasko Fan 2115? I'd like to clear the blade inside and perhaps, I might also see why it's a bit wobbly towards the base.

Question does the base underside have any removable screws that you can remove? If so, start from there. The top part of the fan should pop off with a screw driver. Exposing the screws securing the shell of the fan.

How do I take off to replace a lasko cyclone 3542 fan blade ?

Bex,
THose usually just pull off. You will have to pull hard because there is a spring clamp that they sometimes put around the inside hub of the fan. If there is a clamp, you will need to transfer that to the new blade. Hope this helps!

Fan rattles when running. It appears that the fan blade hits the inner plastic piece behind the fan blade.

Open it up by removing screws and plastic backing. See this black round rubber fixture? Apply some WD-40 inside it and you'll be back to quiet fan operation.

I just bought the hamption bay littleton, and I know it's cheap, and it's wobbling all of the time. I have seen other littletons not wobbling on high speed. HELP!!!

wobbling means its out of balance .. make sure that all of the blades are properly seated where they bolt down .. if one is sticking up a bit then it will be out of balance .. check the the tips of every blade is the same distance from the ceiling when rotated to a fixed position .. if one is off then its mounting bracket may be bent or mounted wrong .. finally its possible that the blades simply dont weight the same .. i have a strobe light that makes it easy to see which blade is the problem .. but you can just guess by experimenting ... one way is to mark one blade so you always know where your started .. then clip on one of those spring clips normally used to hold groups of papers together ... clip it to one blade (as a weight) and see if it makes it better or worse .. rotate it around each blade until you find the best place .. then move it toward the tip or toward the motor and see if that makes it worse or better .. with a bit of work you can eventually balance the fan nicely .. they make stick on weights to do that job .. in fact there is a fan balancing kit that includes moveable weights as well as stick on weights ... if the fan is new and way out of balance then they will probably give you a new set of blades for it .. when its balanced properly then it should have very little or no wobble ..

I can tell you how to take the fan blades off your Lasko Model 3723 fan, but you might not be able to use it on your other fan. The reason why is that the motors, although similar, may not have the same diameter shaft.

Of course, you should have the power cord unplugged from the AC outlet before removing the front fan grille and placing your hands on the blades. Safety first!

The fan blades and hub are a single unit that stretches to fit onto the motor shaft. There is no setscrew at all. Take any sort of metal bar or tool such as a screwdriver or pry bar and carefully lever the hub off the shaft by pressing your lever to lift the hub a small fraction of an inch on each side, working the hub slowly upwards against the long vertical bars that support the motor. If you have reasonably strong hands, you may be able to pull the hub toward you by placing your fingertips under the edge of the hub and pressing with your thumbs against the vertical support bars as needed. It's not too difficult to do.

Good luck!

I want to take it apart to clean the fan blades ....how do I get to the blades.Cant figure out how to take off the protective grill?

remove all screws from the back and then slowly pry off from the back its click on there are latches that secures the backing, also remove the screws that holds the controls.

slowly pry open the case, i did mine in the middle and work my way around the unit, but it a bit tricky..

the best way to clean the device is to use a air compressor, strong air blowing inside while holding the blade with a screw driver. and even using a paint brush with long bristle, while blowing, this way you dont have to take the device apart.

good luck

Ceiling fan wobble

try taping a nickle on top of one of the blades start in the middle of the blade (from tip towards motor) then turn it on see if it improves..if not change it to a different blade.. keep trying blades till you notice an improvement. Then fine tune it by moving the penny in towards the motor or out towards the tip. It is a time consuming task but it will work.
