Maybe if you enter the Meet the Robinsons ID code and make it a known game it will work again. Or if you upgrade it with the disc and cord they include it will work. Well good luck!
I found the solution:
The scanner by default send data without suffix or prefix. If anyone wants to have CRLF after the scanned data, he must set the scanner to send sufix after the data.
Read the page 5-78 in the manual :)
Lets start with basic trouble shooting. You stated that you are using a wireless controller. Does the same problem happen with a wired controller? If so then we can dig deeper. If not there is your answer.
